We’re here to help you grow musically and creatively
We are passionate about music and our goal is to teach you how to not only play music but to create it! Our intermediate and advanced instruction focuses on using the skills you have learned to find your own unique voice. We are proud to say that many of our bands and students have created, performed, and published albums of original music!
At Wall of Sound, we take a wholistic approach and not only make you a proficient musician but a prolific one, with practical skills to continue creating, producing and performing music in the future.

Instruments
We can have you playing in no time! Playing for years but still stuck in a rut? We can help!
We teach Guitar, Bass, Drums, Ukulele, Voice, Keys and Music Theory.
Songwriting
We can help you learn how to fully express your ideas through music and write original songs!
Arrangement, Lyrics, Soloing, Basslines, & How to overcome writer’s block.
Recording
We can teach you how to record your songs using DAWs like GarageBand, Logic and more!
Home studio, tracking, mixing, how to use effects, EQ, and publishing your music
Performance
Take your set from the garage to the stage with real tips from gigging musicians.
Get experience playing at real local venues and festivals like Cat’s Cradle, Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival, Local 506, The Peel Art Gallery and more!

We teach students of all ages and experiences. It’s always a good time to learn!
Private lessons
30 min - 1 hr / week
Weekly 1-on-1 lessons online or in person at our studio space in Carrboro. Choose an instrument to focus on or try many different ones. Every lesson meets you where you are and caters to your specific growth.
Band Program
1.5 hr / week
Experience what it is like to be in a band and perform at real venues! Bands play, write, and arrange songs together with real world coaching from a professional musician. Join with friends, form a family band or apply individually to be matched up with new bandmates. Band Program is for adults too!
Home Studio Setup
1 - 3 hour session
Intimidated by recording gear and not sure how to get it all going? Get help setting up your in home recording studio by booking a home studio session. We will help you set up your gear and teach you how to use it so you can get to the fun part of creating!
